These Terms of Service outline how MyTechHero (“we,” “our,” or “us”) provides on-site and remote technology support to individuals and small businesses across New Zealand.
By booking or using our services, you agree to these terms.
1. Services
We provide on-site, remote, and maintenance services for computers, smart devices, and network systems.
Each visit or remote session includes diagnosis, support, and recommendations based on your request.
We’ll always act with care and professionalism but can’t guarantee every issue will be fixable within the first visit. If more time or parts are required, we’ll discuss your options before proceeding.
2. Pricing and Fees
All prices include GST (15%).
Service Base Fee Additional Time Travel
Quick-Fix Visit (≤ 30 min) $40 flat—+$20 for out-of-area
Standard On-Site Visit $40 callout + $80/hr $20 per 15 min after
1 hour Included within Wellington / Hutt Valley
Business Support Visit $100/hr $25 per 15 min +$25 for out-of-area
Remote Support $30 per 30 min—
Rates apply Monday – Saturday, 8 am – 7 pm. After-hours services may incur a 25% surcharge.
3. Cancellations and No-Shows

You may cancel or reschedule a booking up to 24 hours in advance at no cost.

Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice may incur a $40 cancellation fee.

If we arrive at your scheduled location and you are unavailable or access is not possible, a full callout fee will apply.

4. Payments
Payment is due at the completion of service.
We accept EFTPOS, cash, credit card, or online banking (confirmation required).
Late payments may incur reasonable collection or administration fees. MyTechHero may withhold future services until outstanding balances are cleared.
5. Data and Device Responsibility
While we take great care when handling your devices and data, you are responsible for maintaining your own data backups.
We are not liable for any data loss, corruption, or incidental damage that occurs during or after servicing unless caused by proven negligence.
6. Warranty and Guarantees
We warrant our workmanship for 30 days from the date of service. If an issue recurs due to our work within this period, we’ll recheck it free of charge.
This does not cover new or unrelated issues, third-party software faults, or hardware failure.
MyTechHero complies with the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986 for all services provided to consumers.
For business clients, the Consumer Guarantees Act does not apply.
7. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to decline or discontinue service if we encounter:

Unsafe, abusive, or unsanitary conditions,

Unlicensed or illegal software, or
-
Devices containing offensive or illegal content.
8. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, MyTechHero will not be liable for:

Indirect or consequential losses (e.g. data loss, profit loss, downtime), or

Any amount exceeding the total fee paid for the related service.
We are committed to resolving any issue fairly and professionally.
9. Travel and Service Areas
On-site service is available throughout Wellington / Hutt Valley.
Additional travel costs may apply for other regions, quoted at booking.
10. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by New Zealand law.
If any provision is found invalid, the remaining terms remain in full effect.
